The wheelchair-bound beauty queen seeks financial support for Miss Wheelchair World 2022 Soumya holds the title of
Miss Wheelchair World India. Due to some financial constraints, requested for some help and relief from the government.
According to him, lakhs of rupees are needed to participate in the contest. Professional designers from several NGO
institutes like Arjoi, NIFT and Sunita Bhatia Foundation came to his rescue. Somya revealed when she was 11 months old,
she was suffering from locomotor disability and scoliosis. As a result, the muscles in his legs become weak and cannot bear
the weight of the body. The disease sent him to a wheelchair. Despite all the odds, Saumya completed her education without
without giving up in life, without being a burden on her parents, gave a good dimension to her career.
Somya is an MBA from Panjab University. Currently working as an HR professional with a private company based in Mohali,
balancing her beauty obsession. Somya shared that she was badly injured in a car accident two years back while on her way to
the job. Father Rajinder Singh is a retired officer from the Excise Department, his mother Sarita is a housewife.
Said that this competition is going to be held in Rosarito, Mexico in October. 30 other countries are participating including India,
Malaysia, Netherlands, Spain, Russia, Brazil, Canada, France, and Ukraine. Soumya applied for the Miss
Miss Wheelchair World 2022 contest organized by the Jadina Taka Foundation which is certified by the
the Government of Mexico. After several rounds of interview, I got a chance to participate in this contest.
